We are at the week’s end, although truthfully the weekends run into the week for me since I work from home and tend to keep the same routine day in & day out.

We had an early morning appointment this morning to get our water meter replaced as it had stopped being read. So CBRM (Cape Breton Regional Municipality) guy shows up right on time for 9:00 am. We have a hard time finding the water meter in the house (plumber we hired a couple times couldn’t find main shut off either) but since this is a small town and everyone knows everyone, the CBRM guy knew the previous owner, so called & asked where it was… lol!

So once that was found, the water meter was replaced and off he went. I went out for the day with my bestie to do some shopping. Get home and find that our bedroom floor is squishy & leaking right where the water meter was changed… 😭 Call back CBRM and tell them basically to send someone back here to shut off our main water & fix it since we didn’t have a problem until it was “fixed”. Long story short, it’s now fixed, and i’m praying that our floor dries well and isn’t ruined… i’ll have fans pointed at it and am hoping for the best. *sigh*

I’m not sure what else to do to prevent any damage, it’s not a HUGE area, but it’s definitely enough. When we step on that area it *squishes & spurts* up water, which is definitely not what you want!

Anyway, while shopping today I bought my daughter a couple of items from ‘The Body Shop’ (body wash & a body spray), some fun candy things from that special “as seen on tv” type store. 😂 Honestly, I forget what it’s called as i’m not there often, but they always have special & unique items and candy etc.. so I treated the girls to a pkg each.

For myself, I bought a pair of thick, fuzzy lined leggings. I’m usually not really a leggings person, I feel like i’m wearing pantyhose & when i’m wearing them & feel very self conscious. I tend to dress pretty casual/modest, so haven’t bought into the leggings craze. But these ones are SO thick and plush, i’m thinking I may like them! They were on sale for $10, so I bought a pair of black ones which will go well with my oversized hoodies and long sweaters. I’m not into “fun/wild” patterns or anything, I pretty much only wear neutrals, so black it was.

We stopped at a pet store to buy some aquarium supplies, not for myself, although my cats would absolutely LOVE pet fish i’m sure! My friends kids attend a private school & they’re setting up an aquarium for the kids! That was fun! No fish as of yet though, gotta get the water prepped so the poor fish don’t die when they’re dropped into the water… 😬

Stopped at a costco type wholesale store with SO MUCH STUFF from floor to ceiling, I think i’m very much used to small town living now ‘cause my eyes bugged out of my head when I saw all that stuff! LOL!! I didn’t buy anything, but my friend grabbed a few things.

I think that’s about it today… my head is throbbing from dealing with the water fiasco and i’m trying really hard not to stress out about replacing our flooring, if we need to.

We are supposed to be doing our groceries in the morning, but I don’t think I have it in me after today. For a few reasons:

1. I just want to stay home and work on my sewing orders. Maybe go for a nice walk in the afternoon. A slow day. We have lots of food in the house, so I think i’m just going to wing it with what we have until Thursday. If we need an odd item, my husband can grab it.

2. My husband is going to be absolutely exhausted after all the water issues today. He worked last night, works tonight, and by the time he could actually go to bed, it had been 30 hrs. Dragging him out to grocery shop tomorrow morning isn’t a priority.

3. I wasn’t planning on spending any $$ today, so that’ll even us out if we don’t go randomly spend money on groceries we don’t necessarily need.

OH! Before I sign off… I almost forgot the best part about today! While at the mall my daughter ordered lunch from A&W but wanted a coffee from Timmies (Tim Hortons) so while she waited for her lunch I scooted down a couple shops to grab her coffee. Debit/Credit wasn’t working so cash only. I had no cash on me, zero. My bestie checked and she had an entire nickel. So I told Mya, sorry kid, looks like you’re not getting a coffee today. Well the woman working cash at A&W handed me a few dollars and told me to go buy my daughter a coffee! Isn’t that the sweetest thing!? I get all warm & fuzzy just thinking about it! Totally made my day, so sweet of her!

Well, this is a very rambling type post, and i’m not 100% sure if it’s even coherent as i’m tired and need to grab my book and wind down till bedtime I think!
