As per my 2nd 2023 goal I had my husband carry up my bin of books (which weighs a gazillion lbs I swear, I could barely lift up a single stack of these books.. lol!) so I could dig through this bin of goodness & see what i’ll be reading this year!
I haven’t taken a peek in this bin since we moved to Cape Breton Island last January, so truly it was a surprise to me! And I was very pleasantly surprised, there are so many good books in here, i’m excited to dig in!
In all there are 52 books, which kind of makes me feel like the universe is trying to tell me something, however, no, I highly doubt that I will be reading a book a week. Some of these books are as heavy & chonky as my Walter is…

Without further ado, let’s take a peek & see what i’ve collected!

In all 11 of these I purchased new at retail, and the rest were picked up from thrift shops & library sales. A few were picked up after watching them on TV (Mr.Selfridge was a tv series I enjoyed a few years back!) Goldfinch from the movie, which in fact, I didn’t even get around to seeing, but I thought it looked good! lol! Crazy Rich Asians I loved the movie and have watched it a couple times, so bought the series…
Let me see.. what else do we have. Unbroken, that movie was brutal, but soo good! The book should be even better! Diane Keaton, i’ve always loved her spunk & personality! And just a bunch of random books that I either love the author, or they simply “looked good”.

Führer, Folk & Fathrland I remember purchasing directly from the Author at an arts sale in London, Ont. He was quite interesting to speak with and to be honest, how often do you hear the “other side of the story”. His father was a German soldier in WW2, and I thought it would be a fascinating read. I have read many, many books about WW2 and generally they are never from the German side. Anyway, he sold me on his book & was such a kind soul, that i’m excited to finally read his story!
I also found myself a cute little magnetic bookmark which means I can stop using random receipts… lol!

Now… my only problem is, which book do I start with!?
What do you think? Do you see any books here that you’ve read & loved, or any on your “to read” list?
Do you buy new books? Used books? Or strictly use the library?
“Mr.Darcy Takes a Wife” sounds really good, I’ll be adding that to my TBR list!

Me too now, which is why these have sat untouched since I bought myself a Kindle. It’s time to show them some love… lol!
